It is unlikely that you can create a two-saw device yourself. Yes, it is not needed for household use. For an amateur workshop, a homemade single-saw edge trimmer is quite suitable. Creating such a device would be quite expensive. To create an edge trimmer, you will need:

  • metal pipes, channels and angles
  • electric motor
  • shafts, for example, from agricultural machinery
  • Circular Saw
  • tools for working with metal, such as an angle grinder, drill, welding machine
  • connecting elements - bolts, nuts, couplers.

The first step is to create a strong, reliable, stable frame. A poor-quality bed will cause vibrations, as a result of which crooked cuts appear and the saw deteriorates.

It is best to create a frame from metal channels. The legs must be welded to the frame welded from them.

After this, it is worth welding the corners to the top of the frame along the longitudinal sides and making a groove for mounting the shafts along which the cutting carriage will move.

The next step is the installation of the power unit. You need to choose it very responsibly.

If you decide to use a circular saw with a diameter of 250 mm, then you need to buy a motor that can provide a rotation speed of at least 5000 rpm.
