Nozzles for angle grinders
We are all accustomed to using a grinder only for cutting metal, well, at most for grinding and processing the ends. However, today special attachments for angle grinders have appeared on sale, which allow you to turn an ordinary angle grinder into a wall chaser, chain saw or circular saw.
Using one of these attachments, you can turn your angle grinder into a multifunctional tool for the home. Now there is no need to buy a separate chain saw or hedge trimmer to trim bushes, since a grinder can easily cope with this task.
Unboxing and Review
I unpacked the parcel itself behind the scenes, but this does not change the essence, the box says KAWASAKI and that this is a professional saw, it would be interesting to see a professional who uses this nameless tool...
The entire set is in place, no more, no less, exactly what was ordered.
The most important structural part appears to be cast from silumin, and in some places you can see some casting flaws.
The plastic casing has a catch, but more on that later.
The protective casing was made of “foil” and was easily deformed during transportation; it could be adjusted with two fingers to its original state...
In terms of reliability, the handle looks no better than a silumin base.
I don’t understand chains, but they were packaged well and there wasn’t a speck inside.
The only really reliable thing from the whole set is the tire, the heaviest part of the whole set, it has some damage, but nothing to worry about, the star seems to be in solid oil.
This is the only detail for which I had no suspicions in terms of reliability.
The instructions are in Chinese, but the illustrations make it easy to assemble, most importantly without fanaticism.
I decided to modify the jar, adding silicone sealant as a seal; the factory opening of the oiler immediately aroused my suspicions, and they were confirmed during operation of the saw.
Next, I decided to try it on and assemble it without an angle grinder in order to get comfortable with the design and understand what to expect from it if something happens.
During the assembly process, I was very confused by the handle, which did not stay properly on the body, I tried to fix it with sealant for the sake of experiment, but the handle still shakes, here you most likely need to add a counter washer, an extremely unreliable unit in general.
Next, I already took my Bosch GWS 750S angle grinder, it is capable of adjusting the speed and this is important.
You should keep an eye on the gasket, because the whole saw is supported on it; the first time it was too recessed...
Then adventures began with the tightening screw; it was too short and was almost on the verge.
Somehow everything came together, the plastic casing presses on the spindle of the angle grinder...
I checked it a bit at idle and moved on to testing.
Wall cutter attachment for an angle grinder
Well, if you are an electrician and you often have to hammer out grooves with a hammer drill, then quickly give up on this. Vibrations that occur when working with a hammer drill are harmful to joints. It is much safer and more convenient to work with a wall chaser.
Moreover, for this there is no need to purchase a wall chaser separately. It is enough to buy a wall chaser attachment for an angle grinder to easily cut walls, both brick and concrete. The wall chaser attachment is equipped with a universal fastening system, which allows you to install it on an angle grinder in a matter of minutes.

In progress
First of all, I took a piece of an old power pole, a hard log tarred with tar.
It may not be visible in the photo, but the oiler is not doing its job, the factory hole is too small and the bar and chain are dry.
Naturally, I had to tighten the chain using a screw; this should also be approached without fanaticism.
This is how durable the shield is:
Afterwards, I decided to modify the oiler so as not to burn the chain and bar, but my mistake was to do this procedure with the sharp tip of scissors, the plastic turned out to be too pliable...
But now there is clearly some oil on the bar and chain after work, which means now the oiler is doing its job, although it would have been better to make the hole a little smaller, because now there may be a slight excess of oil.
When storing, naturally the oiler needs to be emptied, otherwise there will be a small puddle of oil after a few hours.
Dust catcher (bullet catcher)
If you often have to do construction work indoors, all the time using an angle grinder for these purposes, then you will no doubt need a dust collector casing. Now cutting concrete with a grinder or grinding metal is much more convenient and, most importantly, safe.
The complete absence of dust allows you to use angle grinders with greater efficiency. You don’t even have to wear glasses, although this is prohibited for safety reasons.
So, the dust collector casing for the angle grinder is easily removed and also easily installed. You can connect it directly to the vacuum cleaner, although it is recommended to do this through an intermediate cyclone filter.
What can you make yourself?
The main difficulty faced by anyone who wants to make a hedge trimmer on their own is the manufacture of serrated knives, which must move close to each other, with the permissible gap between them being hundredths of a millimeter . Moreover, the knives should fit tightly to each other everywhere, including where the teeth pass each other.
Due to such high requirements, non-compliance with which leads to a severe deterioration in the operation of the cutting mechanism, homemade workers take two paths:
- use a ready-made cutting mechanism from a brush cutter with a burnt out or broken motor;
- They develop their own cutting tool designs for less stringent requirements, albeit with noticeably worse cut quality.
The advantage of a ready-made cutting tool, especially premium brands and expensive models, is that it is made of the highest quality, so it cuts the bushes evenly and accurately.
And using an angle grinder (angle grinder) or a chainsaw instead of a standard motor allows you to restore the functionality of the tool without purchasing a new engine, which is the most expensive component of a brush cutter.
The advantage of a self-made cutting tool is that its construction does not require a faulty brush cutter, so even those who do not have spare parts from a serial device lying around in their pantry can use this method.
The noticeably worse quality of cutting the green fence is not a problem for such DIYers, because otherwise they would buy an inexpensive Chinese device and use it as is, or attach it to a grinder/chainsaw.
The most effective cutting tools that you can make in your garage or workshop are:
- chain saw with comb;
- attachment made from parts from an old hedge trimmer.
Product characteristics
Sawing attachments for angle grinders are supplied from China or Canada. It is not recommended to purchase a Chinese product. Judging by the reviews, some orders arrive with discs crumbling into small pieces. And the quality of the metal does not always reach the required level. Therefore, the savings are not worth it.
High-quality products successfully cope with boards of any thickness. The appearance of backlashes is also eliminated. Even the high speed of the motor in an angle grinder does not cause problems. Users do not notice any vibration, jerking or the tires being pushed out of the wood pieces. In terms of ease of operation, these systems are not inferior to standard electric chain saws.
Popular models
The Homelite company, specializing in budget electric and gas-powered tools, is constantly expanding the range of its chainsaws, taking into account modern technical developments. The brand’s range includes not only household, but also semi-professional saws - Homelite CSP 4518. The most popular models are those suitable for simple work on a country site:
- Homelite CSP 3314;
- Homelite CSP 4016.
All presented models differ from each other in power, equipment and technical characteristics. Depending on these indicators, the cost of chainsaws can also fluctuate significantly.
Chainsaw Homelite CSP 3314
One of the most popular models due to its lightness and versatility. It is mainly used in the domestic sphere to solve simple problems in relatively small volumes (pruning trees in a personal plot, collecting firewood for personal use, simple repair work).
Homelite CSP 3314 is equipped with the original ZipStart system, providing easy and smooth starting. Safety is ensured by the inertia chain brake. There is also a proprietary vibration damping system.

This saw is suitable for cutting particularly large tree trunks, thanks to a specialized saw set and a powerful gasoline engine. The volumes of the fuel and oil tanks have been increased, which allows you to use the chainsaw for a long time without interruption. The safety of the owner is ensured by a special casing on the nose of the tire. It reduces the likelihood of injury from bounces.
The design of the chainsaw allows for the installation of variable tires (possible length from 41 to 50 cm). The device is maximally unified by the manufacturer, which allows the use, if necessary, of components from other brands from models of the same power.
CSP 4016 belongs to the new generation of Homelite chainsaws, in which the manufacturer has corrected the most common shortcomings and optimized the design. It is worth noting that the developers’ innovations and increased power had almost no effect on the dimensions and weight of this model.

About the Echo brand
The Kyoritsu Noki brand was founded in Japan in 1963. The first chainsaw produced by the plant was called “CS-80” and was very popular on the market. Immediately after the release of this model, the line (and then the entire manufactory) received the name Echo. From that moment on, a new manufacturer of professional and amateur instruments appeared on the Japanese and Middle East markets, which could compete not only with CIS manufacturers, but also with European craftsmen.
In 1972, Echo Incorporated was founded in the USA, which continues to manufacture products to this day. The lineup has changed and improved. The influence of American colleagues in the shop can be traced, although the basis remains original.
