First of all, you need to decide what material you plan to work with. If only with wood, then it is better to buy a carpenter's workbench, if with metal blanks or parts - a metalworker's. But if you need a functional workbench that is suitable for processing wood and metal, it is better to choose a universal one.

When choosing, pay attention to design features. For example, slots in the body of a carpentry tool are allowed as long as they do not affect ease of use. In the case of a mechanic's workbench, when working, the cracks will quickly become clogged with metal shavings, which will have to be constantly swept away.

An important criterion when choosing is the material or coating of the countertop. Linoleum type sheathing, plywood or MDF are an excellent option for working with wood or small parts. Galvanized steel sheets are used as a top coating in models intended for metal processing. Polypropylene countertops are suitable if varnishes, paints, and solvents are used in the work.

Choose the dimensions of the model in accordance with the work for which you plan to use the workbench and where to install it.
